Silver St. Brigid's Cross
This sterling silver cross is inspired by St. Brigid, one of Ireland's patron saints.
Normally woven from rushes, St. Brigid's Crosses were traditionally made on the 1st of February, or Lá Fhéile Bhríde (St Brigid's feast day). Hung on the walls of the house, they were believed to be a talisman which protected the home from fire and evil.
Although there are a variety of cross forms, the most common one features a woven square with four radials. This is the design replicated in our silver pendant.
A distinctive piece of Irish jewellery, the St. Brigid's Cross comes complete with an 18" silver chain and ships worldwide.
